GO Waihi Warm Up Party, OceanaGold major sponsor – the name says it all. It’s party time in Waihi and time to have fun on the streets.
There will be retro cars, rock ‘n’ roll music, food trucks with all sorts of food on offer, stalls with rock ‘n’ roll clothes, plus much more on offer.
Experience the ‘thud, thud, thud’ of the V8’s as they make their way into town accompanied with the combined engine roar – the onlookers eagerly wait to see the first cars enter Seddon Street.

It’s a day for enjoying the cars, the music, the food (gotta get to EAT STREET) and the overall ambience of the day from glistening chrome and stunning paint jobs plus an understanding of the countless hours (thousands probably), put into restoring each car/hot rod.
Kapa haka and a rock ‘n’ roll dances from local school kids to go with rock ‘n’ roll bands are all part of the entertainment for this annual street party. Plus we have lots of competitions running on the day from cars to fashion and for the best shop window in the lead up - we are giving away a 50 inch TV with the shop and win promotion.
And we have OWEN’S FLOORING Undie 500, with teams of 3 racing up and down Seddon Street (dressed in drag) - exciting and lots of laughs.
Ther’s also the BEST DRESSED Comp and the SHOP AND WIN promotion.
This is a fun street party of rock ‘n’ roll on the streets of Waihi.
