A message from the Waihi Vegetarian Festival organisers...
We’re excited to announce that the Waihi Vegetarian Festival is back!
Returning for its fifth year on Sunday 4 December, visitors will be in for a treat with lots of fun activities, live music and a delicious selection of international vegetarian and vegan food on offer.
There will also be an onsite tea room where visitors can sit back, relax and enjoy a vegan high tea experience.
Back by popular demand, the amazing taiko drummers from Haere Mai Taiko will be ready to impress visitors once again with their performances.
Student groups from around the region will also be performing throughout the day including Te Aroha College, Thames High School and Waihi Central Kapa Haka Group.
Visitors will get to enjoy instrumental performances by The Formosa String Quartet and other talented musicians on the piano, violin and guzheng (Chinese zither).
With a diverse range of activities planned such as cooking demos, health seminars, Taichi classes and hands-on arts and crafts activities, visitors will have many opportunities to learn new things while having some fun!
The festival will be held at Waihi Academy, 132 Landlyst Road, from 10am-3pm.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome! So save the date, round up your friends and whānau and come join us for a great day out!
